‘Weedophobe Senator’ Warning
I need to introduce you to a sub-species of the Weedsel family.
The ‘Weedophobe Senator’ is the lazier, but equally annoying cousin to the weedsel.
The weedophobes, as they are more commonly referred by, outnumber weedsels by about 3 to 1 and while both species share a voracious appetite for easy money, the weedophobe is much lazier and prefers to slurp at the public trough while claiming to be entitled. Although they claim to be deathly allergic to cannabis, some have been known to go both ways and morph into a bizarre hybrid. Weedophobes are notorious law breakers and should be considered cunning and dangerous. Do not leave your money, booze or children alone with a weedophobe under any circumstances – they are not to be trusted.
The weedophobes have been very quiet for a a few years now, letting things quiet down after facing public demands for expulsions for being crooks, frauds, wife beaters and pedophiles. A few have decided to end their silence to inform the taxpayers that they will delay passage of Bill 45 to thwart the efforts of the government to implement cannabis legalization. These annoying vermin lack the ability or intelligence to stop it, but are willing to waste tax dollars in a childish attempt to feel relevant. Let’s take a closer look at these self-important, arrogant creatures who feel the need to waste your money and delay granting citizens a right that should never have been taken away.
The first of these rodents to voice his disdain for the taxpayer was one Mr. Claude Carignan. Mr. Carignan claims he needs months to pass this bill – 7 or 8 to be exact – and says with their extended (and paid) summer vacation, they’d be lucky to get it done by the end of 2018. He cites the tremendous amount of work to be done and wanting to do a good job as justification. Let’s break out the bullshit meter.
This weedophobe managed to push through all of Harper’s constitution and freedoms defying omnibus bills in record time. He is either admitting that he didn’t complete the ‘tremendous amount of work’ and was unconcerned with doing a good job under the Harper Conservatives, or he is exaggerating the amount of work required for Bills 45 & 46 to deliberately hold up the democratic process. This type of elementary school hijinks has no place in our parliamentary system and especially when it’s being done on the taxpayer’s dime.
Here’s a little fun fact about Mr. Carignan that makes his recent statements very confusing and removes any credibility he thinks he may have. I read a statement that he made in 2015, as leader of the opposition in the Canadian Senate, that is completely contrary to what he said today.
Sen. Claude Carignan, the Conservative leader in the upper chamber, says his senators will look for ways to improve legislation coming from the House of Commons and won’t abuse their majority status in the upper chamber to thwart Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s program.
“We don’t want to obstruct and (be) an ideological opposition,” he said.
“We don’t want to play this game. We will play our role to improve, to study and we will not abuse the situation.”
To be fair, weedophobe senators have a reputation as heavy drinkers, so it’s possible Mr. Carignan honestly doesn’t remember making one or both of those statements. Regardless, it sure looks like he’s playing games now.
